Ukrainian Defense Powers Down Hundreds of Enemy Drones and Missiles Overnight

During the night from August 18 to 19, Ukraine’s air defense demonstrated its formidable capacity to counteract an extensive enemy aerial assault.

According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, a significant number of hostile drone attacks and missile launches were intercepted and neutralized.

Over the course of this night, Ukrainian defenders shot down 230 Shahed-type drones and other imitation UAVs, along with four Iskander-M ballistic missiles and two Kalibr cruise missiles.

This attack was part of a large-scale offensive launched from regions including Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea and over the Caspian Sea.In total, about 280 air strikes were carried out against Ukraine in a single night: 270 Shahed UAVs and imitation drones, five Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and an equal number of Kh-101 cruise missiles.

Ukrainian military sources report that air forces, anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems actively fought against the assault, destroying over 230 UAVs and six missiles.

The consequences of this missile and drone attack were observed in 16 locations, with debris falling on affected areas.Preceding Events: On the night of August 19, Ukrainian Air Forces reported the takeoff of two Russian Tu-95MS aircraft and potential launches of cruise missiles.

It was later confirmed that these missiles were heading towards Kremenchuk in the Poltava region, where the enemy launched a massive strike.

Explosions and debris falls were recorded in this area, leaving more than 1,500 residents without electricity.

Ukrainian defenders utilized all available means to counter this significant attack and prevent further destruction.
