Over 600 TikTok Accounts Distributing Disinformation Against Ukraine: An In-Depth Analysis

Ukrainian analysts from Texty.org.ua uncovered a large-scale network comprising more than 600 accounts actively engaged in disseminating disinformation and undermining Ukraine’s interests on the popular social media platform TikTok.
The operation, identified under the pseudonym UA_REVIVAL, involves 629 accounts systematically spreading content aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian state, its armed forces, and government leadership.
According to representatives of the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, the primary goal of these accounts is to erode public trust in mobilization efforts, tarnish the reputation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and undermine government authority.
Researchers found that these accounts share similar IDs and avatars, posting between five to seven videos daily.
Most of the videos are emotionally charged or somber visuals, often paired with music and captions designed to evoke feelings of sadness or outrage.
The main target topics include government leadership—more than 1,400 videos with a total of around 780,000 views—disinformation about mobilization and military command, with over 1,000 videos accumulating approximately 520,000 views, along with fake news related to TCC (Territorial Defense) and manipulative political content about NABU, SAP, Kyiv Mayor Klichko, and former President Pорошенко.
Experts also highlight Russia’s new tactic of discrediting Ukrainian troops by creating videos with landmines in the form of rabbits and cats.
The Center emphasizes that TikTok remains a convenient platform for Russian bots, who exploit sensitive topics to showcase alleged widespread discontent and sow division within Ukrainian society.
Earlier reports indicated YouTube removed a channel belonging to former Ukrainian TV host Diana Panchenko, who, after the start of the war, fled to Russia and began spreading Kremlin propaganda via her platform.
