Massive Russian Attack on Poltava Region: Night Strikes and Recovery Efforts

On the night of August 19th, the territory of the Poltava region was subjected to a large-scale military assault by Russian armed forces.

According to official reports provided by the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Kogut, the aggressors launched several powerful missile strikes targeting two districts — Kremenchuk and Lubny.

These attacks resulted in fires, infrastructure damage, and destruction of residential buildings across the city and surrounding settlements.

Critical administrative buildings of energy sector enterprises were also damaged, raising concerns about prolonged power outages.Kogut confirmed that, fortunately, there were no casualties among locals or workers.

However, over 1,471 households and 119 legal entities in Lubny district were left without electricity due to the strikes.

Emergency services and energy workers are already actively working to mitigate the aftermath, restore damaged infrastructure, and stabilize the situation.

The regional head assured that all necessary forces and resources have been mobilized to carry out recovery work and keep the situation under control.This nighttime attack once again highlights the intensification of military activities by Russian forces, causing concern among local residents and necessitating increased security measures and swift response efforts from relevant authorities.
