Massive Night Attack on Poltava Region: Consequences and Official Response

During the night, the territory of the Poltava region was subjected to a large-scale attack by Russian forces, utilizing drones and ballistic missiles.

According to Vladymyr Kogut, head of the regional military administration, damage assessments have confirmed significant destruction, although thankfully no casualties occurred.

Fragments and damage to administrative buildings belonging to energy sector enterprises were observed in the affected areas, indicating a targeted assault by the enemy.

The most affected districts were Lubensky and Kremenchuk, where over 1,500 residential and nearly 120 business subscribers in Luben district experienced power outages following the missile strikes.

Emergency services and energy workers are already engaged in restoring the damaged infrastructure and eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Reports also indicate that due to the strike, electricity supply was temporarily halted in several settlements.

On the night of August 19, Kremenchuk was hit by drone attacks, resulting in explosions within the district.

Monitoring reports mention the launch of at least two Russian ballistic missiles, potentially Iskander-M/KN-23 type, pointing to intensified enemy activity aimed at destabilizing the region and showcasing military aggression.
