Zelensky Calls for End to War: Russian Attacks Aim to Destabilize and Humiliate Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky voiced deep concern over Russia’s aggressive actions, which systematically and cynically target civilians, including children, to impose their will and weaken diplomatic resistance.

The head of state emphasized that large-scale Russian shelling across Ukraine—especially in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Odessa—is a deliberate act of terror and intimidation aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure and lives.

According to him, seven people have already been killed in Kharkiv, including a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, with dozens wounded.

In Zaporizhzhia, over 20 individuals suffered from missile strikes with significant civilian casualties.

Zelensky highlighted that Russian forces deliberately target energy facilities, such as in Odessa, impacting Ukraine’s independence and stability.

He stated that this strategy represents an attempt by Russia to exert pressure on Ukraine and Europe, and undermines diplomatic efforts to establish peace.

The president called for a swift and effective cessation of killings, the introduction of international security guarantees, and stressed that Russia should not gain any rewards or favorable conditions for its aggression.

He emphasized that the war must end as soon as possible, and Moscow must hear the call to ‘stop’ to put an end to bloodshed and violence in Ukraine.
