The tense situation in Zaporizhzhia has escalated again following a missile strike by Russian ballistic missiles, causing extensive destruction and casualties.

According to local authorities, the number of injured people has increased to 17, with several in critical condition.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov confirmed via his Telegram channel that the missiles struck residential areas, damaging private homes and apartment buildings, destroying several vehicles, and hitting a public transport stop.

The city’s infrastructure was also affected: a fire broke out in a shop and at a bus stop.

Private houses sustained damage, and one passenger van along with a manufacturing workshop were destroyed.

Additionally, security forces thwarted an attempt by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to infiltrate the city, and rescuers managed to extract a burn victim from a collapsed area caused by the explosion.

Sadly, medics are still fighting to save his life.

Earlier, the regional head reported that Russian troops are deliberately targeting critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia to deepen the humanitarian crisis.

The same day, the Russians launched a massive drone attack on Odessa and surrounding areas, striking oil terminals belonging to Socar.

Expert Gunduz Mamedov highlighted that these strikes can be viewed as intentional attacks on civilian infrastructure, equating them with acts of sabotage aimed at destabilizing Ukraine and Azerbaijan alike.
