Ukrainian Armed Forces Liberate Strategic Village of Zolotyi Kolyadzy in Northern Donetsk Region

Ukraine’s defenders, actively engaged in combat operations along the northern frontlines of Donetsk, have achieved another significant milestone in safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity.
According to the reputable Ukrainian resource DeepState, which recently updated its interactive battle maps, they successfully liberated the strategic village of Zolotyi Kolyadzy, located in an area previously affected by Russian advances.
This village was captured by enemy forces during their breakout attempt but has now firmly come under Ukrainian control.
Ukrainian military units from the 3rd Air Assault Brigade and the 79th Air Assault Brigade carried out a precise and effective clearing operation, halting the enemy’s offensive and establishing footholds in the area.
A video from the liberated settlement demonstrated the high combat readiness of Ukrainian defenders and their swift response capabilities.
Experts suggest that this operation significantly curbs the enemy’s ability to pursue further offensive actions near the town of Dobropillia, which remains a key battlefield.
Observers note stabilization efforts are ongoing in this sector, and despite the enemy’s breakthrough, the frontline in the Pokrovsk direction as of August 17 remains under Ukrainian control.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported active fighting near Nove Shakhevo, another site affected by the Russian offensive.
Overall, since the dawn, Russian forces launched 42 attacks across districts including Poltava, Vilne, Zapovidne, Novoekonomichne, Myrolubivka, Novoukrainka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotelne, Udachne, and Dachne, as well as in strategic areas like Vолодимирівка, Rodynske, Chorny Lyman, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Molodetske.
Reports also highlight ongoing Ukrainian operations south of the main front, particularly near Vesela, a village close to Dobropillia, where Ukrainian forces conducted successful clearing operations, consolidating their positions and preventing further enemy advances.
These developments mark an active phase in the ongoing combat, demonstrating Ukraine’s persistent efforts in reclaiming occupied territories and neutralizing enemy forces in the eastern regions.
