Diplomatic circles in Ukraine have reacted strongly and diversely to the recent statements made by the Hungarian government, which accused Ukrainian military units of a targeted attack on the strategically critical ‘Friendship’ oil pipeline.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó publicly declared that Ukraine supposedly launched an assault on the main pipeline, leading to a halt in oil supplies to Hungary and neighboring countries.

He characterized this incident as not only an economic problem but also a blow to Europe’s energy security, adding that it is a political game aimed at dragging Hungary into the conflict, with Brussels and Kyiv allegedly trying to involve Hungary in military actions for over three years.Kyiv responded with sharp criticism — Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that full responsibility for this and potential future provocations lies with Moscow.

According to him, Hungarian politicians have long affirmed that Russia is an unreliable partner for Europe, yet at the same time they tried to maintain dependence on Moscow even after the onset of the full-scale war.

Sybiha emphasized that Hungary’s complaints are primarily manifestations of Moscow’s political games, and assured that Ukraine is doing everything possible to ensure energy stability and security.

He warned that if the situation worsens, the responsibility will rest entirely with Russia.According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Ukrainian drones struck a strategically important target — the Нікольске pumping station in the Tambov region of Russia.

As a result, a large fire broke out, halting the oil pumping through the ‘Friendship’ pipeline, an essential part of Russia’s energy infrastructure used to supply occupying forces in the temporarily occupied territories.

This demonstrates Ukraine’s ongoing active actions against Russian military logistics and strategic targets, significantly impacting Russia’s energy system.Overall, the energy security situation and political tensions remain tense in the region, with responsible parties exchanging accusations that complicate the resolution of the conflict.

Ukraine remains steadfast in defending its sovereignty and maintaining national security amid the current hostilities.
