The world of professional boxing is once again buzzing with news that captures the attention of fans and experts alike: the team of Oleksandr Usik, one of the brightest stars in the heavyweight division, officially addressed the boxer’s health condition and the situation surrounding the scheduled fight with Joseph Parker.

Serhiy Lapin, the team director and close associate of Usik, held a press conference where he discussed the athlete’s injuries and his right to rest and recover after intense physical exertion and sometimes unseen injuries.

According to Lapin, their actions have always been aligned with high professional standards and respect for industry rules.

He emphasized that over the past few years, Usik achieved historic heights — winning the absolute world championship title twice in the heavyweight division, which required enormous physical and moral effort, as well as self-sacrifice.

Currently, he has the right to take a break in order to return to full-strength competition and spend time with his family.

The manager stressed that the team does not intend to rush and urges considering the boxer’s health.

The official contender for the bout is New Zealander Joseph Parker, sanctioned by the World Boxing Organization (WBO).

However, recent reports indicate that Usik has submitted a request to the organization to postpone negotiations over the fight due to his health condition.

Preparations for the rematch with British boxer Daniel Dpuya, held on July 19 in London, where Usik knocked out his opponent in the fifth round earning his third career world title, are continuing.

Despite the postponement, fans and experts remain confident — Usik continues to be one of the leading figures in world boxing and his victories are remembered, even during recovery periods.
