Russian military hits Sum region with airstrike: one woman injured
On Sunday night into early Monday, around 22:00, Russian forces carried out a deliberate and hostile attack on the Sum region, using a guided aerial bomb against the Novoslobidska community.
As a result, a 57-year-old woman was injured and had to be evacuated from her destroyed home.
According to Oleksii Hryhorov, head of the Sum Regional Military Administration, the woman’s condition is currently considered stable, and she is receiving necessary medical attention, with further examinations underway.
Preliminary reports indicate that approximately ten private houses were damaged in the attack, while details on other consequences are still being clarified.
This incident is part of ongoing tension in the region, following another missile strike on civilian infrastructure in the city of Sumy the day before.
The motives and objectives behind such attacks continue to escalate the situation, highlighting the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Investigations are ongoing, and further details about the destruction and casualties are expected to be released soon, though it is clear that damage and injuries remain a concern.
