In a fierce struggle for control over the Zaporizhzhia region, Russia is intensifying its efforts by deploying large military reserves for extensive offensive operations.

According to recent Ukrainian military reports, Russian occupation forces are preparing for a new wave of aggression on the southwestern front, specifically targeting the Zaporizhzhia sector.

Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi in an interview with RBC-Ukraine disclosed that Russian troops are transferring significant units from Sumy region to bolster their presence there.

He indicated that, currently, hostilities are of low intensity, but the enemy aims to launch a powerful strike — a plan that dates back to last year and could significantly impact the conflict’s progression.Local experts from DeepStateMAP have issued warnings about increased activity of Russian forces in Zaporizhzhia.

Their reports suggest that the enemy is attempting to advance toward Stepnohirsk along the shoreline of the former Kakhovka reservoir, aiming to breach Ukrainian defenses and push deeper into the region.

Syrskyi added that the Russians’ ultimate goal is to encircle the entire area, gaining strategic control over key facilities.Earlier, the Southern Defense Forces reported that Russian troops are intensively redeploying additional personnel and military equipment to two critical directions within Zaporizhzhia.

Experts warn that the situation in the western part of the region is worsening dramatically: Russian forces are constantly pressing forward from Plavni to Shcherbaky, attempting to break Ukrainian defenses and establish new positions.
