The recent night assault on Kharkiv has brought devastation and suffering to the city.

According to city mayor Ihor Terekhov, during Monday night, multiple residential buildings were hit by Russian drone strikes, including a high-rise that was targeted by five drones simultaneously.

Tragically, the attack resulted in the deaths of two children — a 1.5-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy — and injured six others.

In total, about 20 people received injuries during the assault.

Rescue teams managed to save two individuals — a man and a woman — pulled alive from the rubble.

Emergency services continue their efforts at the scene, with over 140 rescuers and 39 units of equipment, including heavy engineering and specialized machinery, working tirelessly to control the situation.

Specialists such as sappers, search and rescue dogs, and psychologists are also involved.

In response to the tragedy, officials in Kharkiv declared a day of mourning.

Authorities emphasize that search and rescue operations are ongoing, and they call on residents to stay cautious and united in facing these trying times.
