In light of recent statements from German officials, it becomes clear that the Federal Republic of Germany has no plans to deploy its armed forces to Ukraine within any international peacekeeping operation, even if the ongoing conflict comes to an end.

Foreign Minister Johannes Wadeful emphasized that Germany aims to play an important role in global peace processes but publicly stated that stationing German troops in Ukrainian territory is unlikely and could impose excessive burdens on Germany given its capabilities and commitments.

He highlighted that German military presence already exists in Lithuania, and additional deployments to Ukraine are currently not in government plans.

Meanwhile, the British Defense Minister, Ben Wallace, prepared for potential scenarios contingent on achieving a ceasefire.

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Kiri Starmer confirmed their readiness to deploy multinational security forces in Ukraine once hostilities cease.

Lithuanian presidential advisor Dainius Žiukevicius announced that his country intends to send to Ukraine a contingent of troops equivalent to what was previously deployed during NATO’s peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, signaling their commitment to regional peace and stability.
