First casualties reported following Russian drone strike on Kharkiv: victims and rescue efforts
On August 18, the city of Kharkiv once again faced the devastating consequences of enemy aggression.
At 5:28 AM, following a night attack by drones on the industrial district, local rescue services and military units responded swiftly to the emergency.
The missile strike resulted in several civilian injuries, including a 25-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman, both receiving medical assistance.
Additionally, emergency medical teams hospitalized four more victims — a 10-year-old boy, a 19-year-old girl, a 46-year-old man, and a 47-year-old woman.
All are receiving necessary medical treatment.
Rescue units from the State Emergency Service (SES) operated at the site to quickly mitigate the effects of the attack.
According to Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the number of injured continues to rise, and efforts are ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage and ensure the safety of residents.
By around 6 a.m., the situation remained tense, with city authorities urging residents to exercise caution and follow safety and evacuation recommendations if needed.
