Ukrzaliznytsia Reintroduces Additional Train Service Between Kyiv and Lviv: Tickets Now on Sale

The Ukrainian state railways company, Ukrzaliznytsia, has once again expanded its train services by adding an extra regular train operating between two of Ukraine’s major cities — Kyiv and Lviv.
This move aims to meet the increasing demand from travelers and to provide a more convenient and comfortable travel option for passengers.
The new train, number 243/244, which is already available for booking, is expected to facilitate easier journeys for residents of the capital and western Ukraine, especially during the busy August period.
According to the company’s statement, this additional train was introduced through logistical optimization — adding more seats on an existing route by reducing the turnaround time of cars arriving from other schedules.
The train consists of standard comfortable sleeping and seated carriages.
It will depart from Kyiv on August 21, 22, 23, and 31 at 06:35 AM, and from Lviv on the same days at 3:48 PM.
Ticket sales have already begun via the official Ukrzaliznytsia website, mobile app, and station ticket offices, allowing passengers to quickly secure their seats on this convenient service.
The high demand for this route and other popular dates confirms how important reliable and efficient transportation is for Ukrainians, especially on intercity routes like Kyiv — Lviv.
Additionally, during August, other trains such as №249/250 also operate on this popular line, helping to increase capacity.
Early departures of the new train are scheduled from August 16 to 20, reflecting the ongoing high level of passenger interest.
This demonstrates the continuous efforts of Ukrzaliznytsia to meet travelers’ needs for fast, comfortable, and accessible journeys across Ukraine’s key destinations.
