All efforts by the international community and Ukrainian leadership are focused on achieving a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine.

Following his visit to Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in conjunction with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, held a joint press conference that demonstrated unity and determination in supporting Ukraine.

During the event, key directions for upcoming negotiations with U.S.

President Donald Trump in Washington were outlined, including discussions on security guarantees, strategic partnerships, and territorial issues.

Ursula von der Leyen expressed her firm belief that Ukraine has the right to make decisions about its future, and her unwavering support in seeking peace.

She emphasized that peace can only be established through force, as diplomatic efforts remain fruitless without response from the Kremlin.

The EU’s main goals, as reaffirmed by von der Leyen, include providing Ukraine and Europe with reliable security guarantees, preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and strengthening Ukraine’s military resilience to the point where aggression becomes impossible.

She also welcomed Trump’s efforts to end the war and assured that international borders cannot be changed by force.

Europe is committed to intensifying sanctions against Russia and is preparing a new package of restrictions to compel Moscow to sit at the negotiating table.

The upcoming meeting with Trump is expected to include prominent European leaders such as Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The main topics will be security assurances, territorial questions, and the future support of Ukraine against aggression.
