Trump’s priority meeting with Zelensky, European leaders to join later: Details of the upcoming Washington summit

According to reports from the German publication Bild, a significant diplomatic event is being prepared in the U.S.
capital.
U.S.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to initially hold a private meeting solely with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, marking the start of what is expected to be a broader diplomatic gathering.
Only afterward will senior representatives from European countries, along with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, join the discussions to address pressing international issues, particularly concerning Ukraine.
The event is planned to include a working breakfast and several hours of open debate within an expanded format, enabling participants to discuss cooperation strategies and security matters. It is anticipated that European leaders such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Aleksander Stubb, UK Prime Minister Kira Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will attend.
The summit is seen against the backdrop of a potential peace agreement with Russia, possibly declared following the meeting between Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
This diplomatic initiative aims to seek peaceful solutions and strengthen international security.
It is also noteworthy that Zelensky’s last visit to the White House in February was marred by scandal and resulted in the temporary suspension of U.S.
military aid to Ukraine.
Therefore, this upcoming summit is expected to be a crucial step in deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Western allies, as well as discussing strategic security issues and support for Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict escalation.
