Unpredictable Storms and Thunderstorms: Kyiv and Western Ukraine Prepare for Atmospheric Turmoil This Sunday

The upcoming Sunday is set to bring significant weather challenges to residents of Kyiv and western regions of Ukraine, as meteorologists warn of imminent thunderstorms, gusts, and heavy rainfall.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, skies across the capital and surrounding areas are expected to turn stormy, with short bursts of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and wind gusts reaching up to 20 meters per second in some districts, potentially causing disruptions to daily life and infrastructure.The weather forecast indicates a diverse pattern across the country: northern regions will experience cloudy skies with occasional clearings, brief rains, and thunderstorms, with hail and strong gusts of wind possible in individual cases.

Central, western, and parts of southern regions will see short, intense showers, often accompanied by thunder and squalls.

The rest of Ukraine will remain relatively dry, with no significant precipitation forecast.

Winds will predominantly be south-western, shifting to north-western in western and northern areas with speeds of 5–10 m/s.Nighttime temperatures will fluctuate between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius, while daytime readings will reach 23–28 degrees in western and northern regions, and 27–32 degrees in other parts of the country.

In Kyiv, short-term rains with thunderstorms and possible hail are expected, alongside wind gusts up to 20 m/s.

Night temperatures in the capital will be around 17–19°C, with daytime temperatures rising to 26–28°C.A yellow alert has been issued, indicating a risk of complications for energy, construction, and transportation sectors.

Authorities advise residents to stay informed about weather updates, take precautions, and remain alert to mitigate the impact of imminent weather disturbances.
