The Ukrainian defenders once again demonstrated their resilience and fighting capacity despite facing losses and challenging battles.

According to the operational data from the United Operational-Strategic Grouping ‘Dnipro,’ Ukrainian troops have temporarily evacuated two small settlements—Poviv Yar near Kostiantynivka and Ivan-Darievka near Siversk—due to the intensified front-line situation.

Simultaneously, the enemy launched a major mechanized offensive in the Kupiansk direction, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, and infantry.

This marked the first significant assault on this sector in a considerable period; however, coordinated actions by Ukrainian forces successfully halted it.

Several pieces of enemy equipment were destroyed, and over twenty Russian soldiers, who abandoned damaged vehicles, fell into Ukrainian fire.

Ukrainian units precisely coordinated their actions, which prevented further breakthrough attempts, resulting in the destruction of all five armored vehicles involved in the attack.

According to ‘Dnipro’ STRF, the Russian army suffered heavy losses in the past day: over a thousand soldiers killed, with nearly 70 combat engagements recorded on the front as of August 16.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously warned that Russia might intensify its attacks during these days to improve its negotiating position, emphasizing the ongoing importance of readiness among Ukrainian defense forces.
