Significant Growth in Tax Revenues from Ukrainian Gas Stations: New Opportunities for the Budget

In the first seven months of this year, Ukrainian gas stations have demonstrated a remarkable improvement in financial discipline and cooperation with the state.

As a result of this active engagement, the industry has seen a substantial 25% increase in tax revenues to the national budget, indicating a more transparent and responsible tax policy.

This information was provided by Daniil Hetmanzev, head of the Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, who emphasized that between January and July, taxpayers paid nearly 2 billion hryvnias in advance payments for profit tax, along with approximately 98 million hryvnias in advance payments for personal income tax paid by individual entrepreneurs.

Overall, during this period, tax contributions from 48 leading fuel networks across Ukraine amounted to over 1.6 billion hryvnias — a 25.46% increase compared to the same period last year.

Particularly notable is the over 40% growth in profit tax revenues, reflecting increased business activity and a reduction in shadow schemes.

Hetmanzev also pointed out that thanks to the enforcement of mandatory advance payments, many companies that previously evaded profit taxes have moved out of the shadow economy and are now legally contributing tens of millions of hryvnias to the state treasury each month.

It is also worth mentioning that from the beginning of the year, individual income tax payers increased their contributions by 20%, paying over 346.8 billion hryvnias in total — 59 billion more than the same period last year.

These trends highlight a positive economic development and a rise in tax responsibility among citizens and businesses alike.
