Russian Forces Capture Two More Villages in Donetsk: Frontline Tensions Rise and Remain Unstable
On the night of August 16, Russian military units launched another offensive aimed at consolidating their positions in the Donetsk region, resulting in the seizure of two additional settlements.
According to military sources, the enemy advanced into the villages of Popiv Yar and Ivano-Daryivka, strategically significant areas on various fronts.
Specifically, in the Sievieransk direction, Russian forces inflicted damage on Ukrainian defense lines and gained control over Ivano-Daryivka.
Meanwhile, on the Drobivsk direction, Russian troops pushed Ukrainian units back, occupying the area around Popiv Yar.
Furthermore, the enemy intensified efforts to expand control near the settlement of Nove Shakhove and launched offensive actions toward Ivanivka.
Fierce fighting continues, and the situation at the front remains tense and unpredictable.
The military reports active hostilities around Poprovsk, involving areas such as Rodynske, Myrolyubivka, Pokrovsk, Nove Ekonomichne, Novoukrainka, and Zvirove.
Additionally, aiming to reach the administrative border of Donetsk region, Russian forces are conducting attacks in the vicinity of Udayne and Dachne, further escalating tensions and complicating Ukraine’s defensive efforts.
