Russia in Gaza: More Than Arms — A Strategy of Propaganda and Disinformation
Ukraine recognizes new facets of Russian influence in the Gaza region, emphasizing that Moscow supplies not only weapons but also actively promotes its methods of disinformation and propaganda.
According to Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk, Russia employs complex and systemic approaches to spread distorted truths and fake news, which become an integral part of its strategic information warfare on the international stage.
The ambassador highlighted that Palestinians following Russian instructions are becoming students in propaganda and disinformation campaigns, which are used to create chaos and discredit other actors globally.
During a visit, Ukrainian diplomats, together with representatives from other countries, toured the Kerem Shalom crossing near the Gaza border to receive updates on the current situation, humanitarian conditions, and logistics of delivering aid.
Korniychuk stressed that Russia itself is a co-creator of the regional information war, manipulating facts to achieve its goals, complicating the situation for the international community.
This fits into a broader context where the world order faces new challenges related to propaganda and disinformation by Russia, which actively employs such tactics in conflict regions, especially in Gaza.
These actions not only contribute to destabilization but also escalate political tensions and hinder humanitarian missions, demanding increased international intervention and strategic responses to counter disinformation and restore stability.
