On August 14, a resident of Sumy region faced danger when he unexpectedly visited his former home located in evacuation zones.

Typically, after evacuating from conflict areas, people try to avoid returning, especially to such dangerous places.

However, this man decided to make a brief visit to see how his native village is doing.

Unfortunately, his trip ended in one of the harsh realities of war: shrapnel wounds and shock caused by an invisible enemy — an FPV drone strike.

According to Oleg Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the man had long evacuated from this village but decided to visit his home yesterday.

On his way back, he was suddenly attacked and sustained minor injuries, which medical staff quickly treated in a nearby hospital.

His condition is currently considered stable.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by residents who choose to stay or return to their properties in the most active frontline areas.Meanwhile, military administrations warn of increased tensions in the region.

Yesterday marked yet another day when enemy strikes escalated, including guided bomb hits damaging residential houses in the Bitytskyi rural subdivision of the Sumy community.

Several homes and power lines were destroyed, and critical infrastructure was disrupted.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration urged residents to refrain from trips to border areas, as these locations are regularly being targeted by shelling.

He called on the public to make every effort to ensure safety and avoid unnecessary risks during this period of intensified hostilities.Overall, yesterday, Russian forces launched 21 strikes on cities and villages in Donetsk region, especially in frontline breakthrough areas.

This underscores ongoing instability and emphasizes the importance of increased caution and evacuation efforts for residents still in conflict zones.
