Ukrainian Government Approves Support Measures for Families of Fallen Soldiers and Streamlines Military Logistics

In an extraordinary session, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved several critical measures aimed at supporting the military and their families amidst the ongoing conflict.
One of the main decisions was to allocate 15 million hryvnias to families of defenders who lost their lives in captivity during their heroic efforts to protect the country.
This initiative addresses the urgent need to assist those who put their lives on the line for national security.Furthermore, the government has improved the procurement process for second-hand military equipment.
Now, military units are permitted to purchase used pickups, quad bikes, buggies, and motorcycles directly, bypassing bureaucratic hurdles.
The pricing will be determined through expert assessments or market data, ensuring transparency and efficiency in procurement.Another significant reform concerns the accelerated write-off procedure for damaged or worn-out equipment.
According to the new procedures, property valued up to 1.7 million hryvnias will be processed more swiftly, enabling units to quickly replace lost or damaged assets without unnecessary delays.Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko emphasized that these measures will help meet frontline needs more effectively and bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
She also noted that the Ministry of Defense has initiated legislative changes to delay the publication of military declarations for one year after the end of martial law, preventing potential misuse of the information by adversaries.
