Trump Comments on Territorial Exchanges and U.S. Role in Ukraine Before Alaska Meeting

U.S.
President Donald Trump, ahead of his trip to Alaska for a scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, issued a cautious statement regarding potential territorial exchanges between Ukraine and Russia.
He emphasized that such issues would be discussed during negotiations, but the final decision rests with Ukraine itself.
Trump highlighted his role as a facilitator, saying he would ensure Ukrainian representatives sit at the negotiation table but would not speak on their behalf.
When asked about security guarantees for Ukraine, he mentioned that agreements could be reached with Europe but not within NATO’s framework.
“Not within NATO, that’s not going to happen.
There are things that simply cannot be done,” he stated.
This declaration underscores the diplomatic delicacy of the current situation and the complex challenges facing Ukraine concerning territorial changes and global security tensions.
