Russian Attacks on Sumy Region: Civilian Casualties and Damage from Enemy Strikes

On August 14, the Sumy region experienced a new wave of military confrontations, which caused significant destruction and injuries among the local population.
According to official reports from the regional military administration, Russian forces carried out several strikes in the area, utilizing guided aerial bombs and drones.
The villages in the Bitytskyi and Myropil communities suffered the most.In Bitytskyi, targeted attacks using modern aerial bombs damaged residential houses and critical infrastructure, resulting in widespread destruction and power outages across the region.Another incident occurred in Myropil, where, according to the regional military administration, a 32-year-old man was wounded during an attack.
It was revealed that he had long evacuated from the village but decided to visit his home on Thursday, which proved fatal – he was hit while returning.
The man was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, but his condition is stable.Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, emphasized the importance of caution: “I urge residents of Sumy region to refrain from traveling to border settlements, which the enemy continues to shell persistently.
Evacuations have long been underway there.
The enemy cynically continues attacking civilians, their homes, and transportation.
We must remain calm and act responsibly to prevent further tragedies.”
