Belarus Announces Breakthrough: Trump Allegedly Agrees to Visit Minsk with Family

In a surprising development on the international political scene, Belarus emerged with information claiming that former U.S.
President Donald Trump reportedly accepted an invitation from the self-proclaimed leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to visit Minsk with his family.
According to Belarusian media sources, including the state news agency BELTA, this information is based on official statements from Belarusian authorities.
In a statement from Lukashenko’s press office, it was revealed that during their first phone conversation, the leaders discussed a range of important issues—including bilateral cooperation, regional security, and the situation in hot spots, notably Ukraine.
It was also reported that after the call, contacts would be continued, and Lukashenko personally invited Trump and his family to Minsk, an invitation that was reportedly accepted. This news came amidst other diplomatic developments, including a recent phone call between Lukashenko and the U.S.
President, who was en route to a summit in Alaska with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Trump confirmed the conversation, stating that its purpose was to thank Lukashenko for releasing 16 political prisoners.
He added that discussions are ongoing regarding further releases and that he looked forward to a meeting with the Belarusian leader, though no specific plans for a visit to Minsk have been announced so far.In June, a surprising visit took place when U.S.
Special Envoy for Ukraine, Kit Kelleog, traveled to Belarus and met with Lukashenko.
One of the outcomes of this visit was the release of 14 political prisoners, including the prominent opposition figure Sergey Tikhanovsky, who had been imprisoned for over five years.
The reasons behind Kelleog’s trip and its true motives remain a subject of speculation—whether it was driven by internal political interests of the U.S.
or other strategic considerations.
