Ukraine Gains Support Amid Global Mobilization: Lithuania and the USA Call for Unity and Decisive Action

At a time when the world faces new security challenges, countries committed to defending Ukraine and supporting its sovereignty are actively demonstrating their readiness to act collectively.
Within the framework of the ‘Coalition of the Willing,’ leaders from numerous nations emphasize the urgent need for swift and decisive steps to establish effective defense mechanisms and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, who participated remotely in the meeting, declared that member states must be prepared to deploy their armed forces if the circumstances call for it.
According to him, Lithuania plans to contribute to joint efforts by providing military specialists and training opportunities.
Nausėda stressed that Russia’s war against Ukraine has far-reaching implications for security across Europe and worldwide, thus measures to halt hostilities should consider Ukraine’s interests and regional stability.
He also emphasized that any attempts to demand territorial concessions or capitulation from Ukraine are unacceptable and contradict Kyiv’s sovereignty.
Furthermore, he highlighted that peace negotiations cannot happen without Ukraine’s active participation, warning that any agreements made without Kyiv would be incomplete and ineffective.
Meanwhile, U.S.
President Donald Trump, who is preparing for a possible trip to Alaska for a meeting with Vladimir Putin, hinted that new sanctions against Russia remain under consideration by his team.
This indicates that the United States continues to pursue a policy of increased pressure on the Kremlin.
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that during the upcoming talks between Trump and Putin on Alaska, issues concerning Ukraine must remain on the agenda, and no decisions regarding Kyiv’s status should be made without Ukrainian involvement.
He believes that no matter how crucial the bilateral discussions are, they cannot exclude Ukraine, since any diplomatic resolution must respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and interests.
