Renowned American author Stephen King, famous for his best-selling horror and adventure novels, has once again drawn widespread attention with his candid and sharp comments on the political landscape of the United States.

Ahead of the release of the film «Chuck’s Life», based on his short story and soon to be released in British cinemas, King gave an interview to The Guardian, where he discussed Donald Trump’s presidency and its impact on the nation.King hinted at what he considers to be the possible ending of contemporary American history during the turbulent Trump era.

According to him, «impeachment might be the best way out of this situation», and he personally wishes to see the former president retire.

He also warned that the worst-case scenario would be Trump serving a third term with complete power grab.

«That’s a horror story», he concluded.Previously, King made a sharp comment about the attack on Trump, suggesting on social media platform X that the assault was carried out with an AR-15 rifle, a weapon strongly defended by Republicans, led by Trump himself.

«This is a gun that the Republican Party — and Trump — are trying to protect», he wrote.

His words sparked anger among Trump supporters, who perceived it as disrespectful to their leader.King also voiced his stance on global issues, urging Russia to cease its war in Ukraine and stop bombing civilians.

He announced he would no longer cooperate with Russian publishers, boycotting certain contracts.

He has expressed full support for Ukraine and called on Vladimir Putin to step down.

«For God’s sake, Russia, stop this senseless war! Stop bombing unarmed civilians! Putin must resign — he must disappear before he harms us all», he stated. An exciting development was his collaboration with a Ukrainian student on the screenplay adaptation of one of his stories.

HBO announced a teaser for a new horror prequel series titled «It: Welcome to Derry», premiering this fall.

Actor Bill Skarsgård, known for roles in «It» (2017) and «It Chapter Two» (2019), will reprise his role as Pennywise.
