Russia’s Massive Night Attack: Air Defense and Drones at the Front and in the Rear
On the night of August 14, Ukrainian forces monitored another wave of aggressive attacks launched by Russian military units.
According to official reports, Russia carried out a large-scale offensive involving two S-300/400 air defense missile systems, as well as a host of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed type and various drone-decoys.
The operation targeted several critical regions of Ukraine, including border areas and strategically important zones.The Ukrainian Air Forces noted that their units demonstrated high skill and resilience by intercepting and defeating 24 enemy drones, including 21 drones shot down at 12 different locations.
Hits were registered in 12 spots in the northern and eastern parts of the country, showcasing the robustness and effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense system in protecting national sovereignty.The attack primarily aimed at front-line regions in Donetsk and Chernihiv, as well as northern Sumy oblast.
Ukraine’s military responded actively by deploying aviation units, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and mobile fire groups from the Defense Forces, successfully disrupting and diminishing the enemy’s strike capabilities.This nighttime assault serves as yet another reminder of the ongoing tension along Ukraine’s frontlines, reinforcing the need for constant vigilance and modernized defenses to counter Russian aggression.
