Polissya advances to Conference League playoffs after tense victory over Hungarian Paksh and prepares to face Italian Fiorentina
The team from Zhytomyr, under the guidance of head coach Rotan, achieved a long-awaited qualification to the next stage of the Conference League, demonstrating their ability to compete with European opponents.
This was the result of an intense and spectacular match held on August 14 in Hungary between Polissya and the local club Paksh.
The first game, which was quite convincing, ended with a 3-0 victory for the Ukrainian team, creating a comfortable lead for Rotan’s squad.

Nevertheless, Polissya did not give up: in the final moments of the match, the Ukrainians actively pressed and managed to score a crucial goal at Paksh’s goal thanks to Gonzalves, who converted a free-kick at the end of the game and set the final score at 2-1 in favor of the Zhytomyr team.
The upcoming challenge for Polissya is facing Italian Fiorentina, a team that has become the new obstacle after passing difficult preliminary rounds, including overcoming Andorran club Santa Coloma.
This victory strengthened their confidence, and now the team will compete for a place in the group stage of the Conference League.
