Zelensky Reveals Extent of Frontline Losses: Russians Suffer Three Times More Casualties Than Ukrainian Defenders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently made a significant statement about the ratio of military losses in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
According to the leader of the nation, Russian troops are experiencing casualties three times higher than Ukrainian soldiers on the frontlines.
He emphasized that Russian forces lose approximately one thousand troops daily, half of whom are killed, and the other half wounded.
To illustrate this, Zelensky cited recent data: in the last 24 hours, the enemy suffered 968 losses, including 531 killed, 428 wounded, and nine captured.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces lost 340 personnel: 18 killed, 243 wounded, and 79 missing.
This indicates a rough casualty ratio of 1:3 in favor of Ukraine.
The President also highlighted that artillery engagement casualty rates are even more imbalanced—about 1:2.4, again favoring Russia.
However, the situation with FPV drones is somewhat better: the ratio stands at 1:1.4, favoring Ukrainian armed forces.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is lacking sufficient funding to boost drone production and procurement; currently, the government is seeking support from European allies.
He also noted that the total Russian troop presence on the front exceeds Ukrainian forces roughly threefold, emphasizing the urgent need for strategic actions to balance the scales and secure a more advantageous military position.
