According to the analytical project DeepState, the situation in Donetsk remains tense and highly dynamic.

On the night of August 12 to 13, Russian troops persisted in their active advancement through several settlements in the region, which could have significant implications for regional security.

Reports indicate that occupiers moved forward in the areas of Nikanorivka, Shcherbinivka, and near Petrivka – strategically important points for regional control.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders demonstrate resilience and are conducting counteroffensive operations; in Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian forces successfully cleared the outskirts of Stepnohirsk from enemy forces, consolidating their positions and strengthening defenses.

Historical context shows that tensions escalated starting August 11 when analysts recorded increased Russian activity toward Dobropillia, especially near the Dobropillia – Kramatorsk highway.

These movements have been marked on maps as two ‘wedges,’ emphasizing the strategic importance of this area.

The Ukrainian General Staff stated that Ukrainian troops are taking all necessary measures to counter the enemy’s advances in the directions of Dobropillia and Pokrovsk.

Additionally, the Azov National Guard’s 1st Corps announced that they have secured their defensive zone in the designated sector on the Pokrovsk direction, covering the area near Dobropillia and the road to Kramatorsk.

All these actions are occurring amid a tense operational environment, keeping the region under high threat and requiring heightened vigilance and decisive military steps from Ukraine.
