On the evening of August 12, the Bryansk region of Russia experienced another significant incident involving increased activity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Local residents reported a serious drone attack on a key infrastructural node — the pump station in Visoke village, which is a vital part of the ‘Druzhba’ pipeline network.

This event forms part of a series of strikes aimed at critical infrastructure sites across the region, already leading to the dissemination of videos showing aerial noise, allegedly recorded at the scene of the incident.

According to Russian official sources, Russian air defense systems managed to destroy at least 12 UAVs attempting to penetrate the region.

The ‘Unecha’ station, which is a major link in the ‘Druzhba’ pipeline system and belongs to the Transneft group, was previously targeted on August 6, when one drone reportedly hit equipment, causing a fire.

These developments generate widespread concern and highlight escalating threats to Russia’s critical infrastructure, which must now grapple with new challenges posed by reconnaissance and attack operations from Ukraine and other actors.
