Starting from the new academic year, Ukrainian students and schoolchildren will receive substantially increased scholarships and awards for their performance on the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT).

The Prime Minister, Yulia Sviridenko, announced this, emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance support for youth and motivate them to achieve high academic results.According to the new measures, from September 1, scholarship amounts for various categories of students and pupils will see significant increases.

Technical school students will be able to receive up to 6,320 hryvnias, college and technical school students up to 7,600 hryvnias, and university students up to 10,000 hryvnias.

PhD students are expected to receive a scholarship of up to 23,700 hryvnias, marking a considerable rise over previous figures. In addition, pupils who score 185 points or higher on the NMT will be eligible for an annual presidential scholarship of 10,000 hryvnias.

Expansion of these awards and lowering the thresholds will enable a larger number of students to attain this recognition — the number of such scholarships will increase to 400.Furthermore, the Office of the President announced that the government plans to raise scholarship payments for all students next year, implementing presidential directives.

Sviridenko also mentioned intentions to revise the rules for international travel by increasing the age limit from 18 to 22 years.

This initiative aligns with President Volodymyr Zelensky’s earlier statement on August 12, about easing border crossing procedures for young people in coordination with military authorities to prevent unnecessary restrictions. These measures aim to support and motivate Ukraine’s youth to excel in their studies, actively participate in societal development, and facilitate their international mobility, all of which are vital for the country’s future progress.
