IAEA Assures No Radiation Increase After Fire Near Zaporizhzhia NPP: Safety Remains Intact

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has officially announced that the fire that broke out on July 12 near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), located in the temporarily occupied region, did not lead to an increase in radiation levels nor posed a threat to nuclear safety.
According to the agency, the fire was contained swiftly by personnel monitoring the situation from the administrative building at a safe distance from the incident site.
IAEA Director Rafael Grossi confirmed that throughout the incident, radiation levels remained stable, and there was no danger to the health or safety of workers and local residents.
It is also noteworthy that on August 12, smoke was observed in the area of the port adjacent to the station, which was closely monitored by experts.
Official reports emphasize that the situation is under control, with no current reasons for regional safety concerns regarding nuclear material or infrastructure.
