Green light on the political stage: Zelensky’s participation in a video conference with Trump and European leaders before Alaska meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently in Germany preparing for a highly significant political event.
According to reports from the German publication Bild, he will take part in a high-level virtual conference that precedes the scheduled summit of U.S.
and Russian leaders in Alaska.
The event will also feature European heads of state and key global figures, including Friedrich Merz from Germany, along with representatives from the European Union and NATO.
It is anticipated that Zelensky will arrive in Berlin by midday to participate in discussions focused on responding to Russia’s territorial claims and implementing security measures to stabilize the region.Friedrich Merz, who is currently on vacation, will make an exception and break his holiday for this crucial online meeting.
The discussions are expected to revolve around the future of Ukraine, potential scenarios, and security guarantees aimed at deterring Russian aggression and ensuring regional stability.The UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, already voiced his firm stance, emphasizing the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
He highlights the need for reliable security assurances, underscoring that regional safety should remain a top priority for the international community.The virtual conference is scheduled for 3:00 PM Kyiv time and will include representatives from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Poland, Finland, as well as European Union and NATO leaders.
Following this, at 4:00 PM, President Trump and Vice President Joe Biden will join European leaders in a roundtable discussion.
These events aim to forge a unified political position on Ukraine and regional security issues.
Notably, most European powers have already approved a joint statement supporting Ukraine, with the exception of Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who refrained from signing.Another significant event is the planned meeting of U.S.
and Russian leaders in Anchorage on August 15, where discussions are expected to focus on ending the war in Ukraine and strategic future cooperation between the two powers.
