On Wednesday, August 13, Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs took a decisive and significant diplomatic step by summoning the first secretary of the Russian Federation’s embassy and handing him an official diplomatic note.

The document stated that this diplomat had been declared persona non grata and must leave Estonia immediately.

This move was a response to Russia’s actions, which Estonian diplomats see as undermining the constitutional order, internal stability, and security of the country.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna explained that the diplomat was directly and actively involved in spreading disinformation, creating social divisions, and facilitating criminal activities, including violations of sanctions regimes.

The ministry has already condemned one Estonian citizen for ties to these illegal actions.

Estonia emphasizes that the Russian embassy persistently interferes in the country’s internal affairs and insists that such interference must cease.

The expulsion of the diplomat serves as a clear signal that Estonia will no longer tolerate actions coordinated or organized by a foreign state within its borders.

This decision has garnered international attention and underscores Tallinn’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and regional stability.

Meanwhile, reports emerge of Russian spies being uncovered and arrested in various countries, including Argentina, where a spy network organized by Prigozhin’s associates has been exposed, and in Belgium, where warnings highlighted the threat of espionage targeting the European Union.

These events reflect an increasing activity of Russian intelligence services and their efforts to operate globally.
