Renowned entrepreneur and technological innovator Elon Musk has publicly voiced strong criticism against the tech giant Apple amid rising competition in the artificial intelligence sector.

Musk accused the American corporation of employing anti-competitive practices to promote its chatbot Grok AI and suppress its rankings in the App Store.

According to the businessman, the current ranking system and application placement create an uneven playing field, preventing smaller and new companies from competing with the dominant OpenAI and its products, notably ChatGPT.

Musk emphasizes that such practices constitute a clear violation of antitrust laws and has threatened immediate legal action.

He claims that Apple is artificially creating barriers for competing AI products, allowing ChatGPT to occupy top positions unchallenged, which contradicts principles of fair competition in the tech industry.

In response, Apple representatives stated that their App Store operates on objective and impartial application reviews, prioritizing user safety and stability.

This conflict continues a long-standing dispute between Musk and OpenAI, led by CEO Sam Altman, who once collaborated but later parted ways over differences in AI development visions.

Musk, as a co-founder of OpenAI, has repeatedly criticized the company for focusing on commercial interests rather than its original non-profit ideals.

His recent statements about Apple’s app rankings, particularly concerning ChatGPT’s dominance and Grok’s limited presence, have sparked widespread public discussion.

Industry experts highlight that these events underscore the urgent need for greater transparency and fair competition in the AI field, which only intensifies tensions among global tech giants and regulators worldwide.
