Additional Kyiv — Odesa Train Service: Ukrzaliznytsia Meets Rising Summer Travel Demand

The Ukrainian State Railways, Ukrzaliznytsia, has announced the launch of an extra passenger train running between Kyiv and Odesa during the peak summer months.
This addition comes in response to the significant surge in passenger numbers as the holiday season approaches its end.
The new train, numbered 265/266, will operate on a specially adjusted schedule in August to accommodate the increased demand for travel on this popular route, according to an official statement on their Facebook page. The extra service will run from August 20 to 24 and from August 27 to 31 in both directions.
Departures from Kyiv are scheduled at 8:40 am, arriving in Odesa at 6:08 pm.
Returning trips from Odesa will depart at 11:27 am and arrive in Kyiv at 8:20 pm.
The trains are equipped with comfortable compartment cars with seating to ensure a pleasant journey for all passengers.Tickets are available through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, on the official booking website booking.uz.gov.ua, or at railway station ticket offices.
This approach allows travelers to plan their trips well in advance and secure their seats during the busy tourist season. This initiative is part of the broader response to the increasing demand for train travel.
Previously, it was reported that ticket requests between Kyiv and Lviv are nearly eight times higher than supply.
Similar trends are observed on the Kyiv–Odesa route, where from July 28 to August 3, over 87,000 passengers searched for tickets, while only around 18,600 seats were available, indicating a significant shortage of train capacity during the peak holiday period.
