On a critical section of the front line within the Sumy region, Ukrainian military forces achieved a significant breakthrough against Russian invaders, restoring control over key territories and pushing the enemy back beyond Ukraine’s national borders.

This marks a notable victory for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their combined defensive efforts.

According to the General Staff, on August 11, Ukrainian troops conducted a successful operation in the Pivnichno-Slobozhansky direction, resulting in the liberation of settlements Stepne and Novokostyantynivka, formerly known as Pershe Travnya.

The 225th Separate Assault Regiment played an active role in this progress, effectively displacing enemy units out of Ukrainian territory.

Over the past day, the situation remained tense: Russian forces launched 13 attack attempts along the northern and eastern sectors, including eight airstrikes involving the dropping of 16 guided bombs, and hundreds of artillery shellings—24 of which utilized multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian defenders not only withstood these assaults but also solidified their positions, significantly strengthening the line of defense.

Overall, the day saw more than 120 engagements on the front, demonstrating the resilience and tactical ingenuity of Ukrainian soldiers.

The hottest directions continue to be Pokrovs’kyi, where the enemy made 35 attempts to assault Ukrainian positions, and the Donetsk region, which is on the verge of encirclement with the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad already in a semi-encircled state.

The unwavering response of Ukraine’s military provides hope for future successes and eventual peace in this contested area.
