A recent investigation and publication of photographs showing Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s new estate have ignited widespread public debate and controversy across the country.

Independent deputy Ákos Hadházy posted a series of images online depicting an extensive construction site in Hatvanpuszta, raising suspicions regarding its purpose and funding sources.

Despite Orbán’s official statement that the residence is a farm for his parents and still under construction, the public and media have seized upon the issue, analyzing every detail.

The photos, taken several years ago, reveal internal features: beneath the pavement, heating cables are visible, and underground brick corridors connect the buildings — raising questions about the actual purpose of the structure.

During public tours organized by Hadházy over the weekend, thousands of curious visitors learned that the estate appears to be more than just a farm — resembling a lavish castle with rich infrastructure.

Local journalists compare this situation to Viktor Yanukovych’s residence in Mezhyhirya, hinting at possible undisclosed assets and secret dealings among officials.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, opposition politician Peter Madyar has promised to launch an investigation into the sources of assets accumulated by government members and their relatives over the past two decades, including the estate in Hatvanpuszta, which is officially classified as a residential house, not a farm — raising further doubts about transparency and accountability in government holdings.
