General Staff: Ukrainian Defenders Counter Russian Aggression in Dobropillia and Pokrovsk Directions, Implementing Effective Measures to Halt Advances
Official reports from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff highlight decisive actions taken by Ukrainian military units to prevent active offensive operations by Russian forces along strategic sectors in the Donetsk region.
According to official spokespersons, Ukrainian units are engaged in persistent and intense defensive battles against numerous well-trained enemy troops attempting to push deeper into Ukrainian positions.
The situation remains particularly tense on the Pokrovsk direction, where the occupiers have concentrated a force exceeding 110,000 personnel, posing significant challenges for Ukrainian defenders.Major Andriy Kovalov, the press officer of the General Staff, stated in comments to ‘Ukrainska Pravda’ that the enemy is employing unprecedented bold and daring tactics.
They are trying to infiltrate Ukrainian defenses with sabotage groups and small infantry units, despite heavy losses.
In several cases, the invaders circumvent Ukrainian positions and attempt to advance toward the Zolotyi Kolyodzhy settlement, while also intensifying infiltration efforts into villages such as Vesele, Vilne, Rubezhne, and Kucheriv Yar, operating covertly and directly engaging in combat actions behind the front lines.Some of these enemy groups have already been destroyed, while others remain under fire control and are being eliminated.
Military officials emphasize that the situation remains volatile, but Ukrainian defenders are mobilizing and implementing measures to identify and eliminate enemy sabotage groups.
Additionally, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Defense Forces has ordered reinforcement of the country’s defenses through the deployment of additional forces and equipment, as well as planning for measures to block potential infiltration efforts in designated areas.Reserves units are already achieving initial successes – enemy troops are being destroyed and captured.
The General Staff underscores that Ukrainian soldiers are focused on completing their assigned tasks, maintaining their positions, and require support from society at large to preserve the defensive capability and stop any further attempts by the enemy to advance.
This calls for national solidarity, support for our military personnel, and engagement in volunteer activities to ensure comprehensive national defense.
