On Monday, August 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to address critical issues related to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.

During this session, several decisive measures were adopted, including simplified procedures for procurement of military equipment and significant increases in financial support for combat units.

Notably, the rules for quickly acquiring quad bikes and pickups using state funds were revised — now, these vehicles can be purchased even second-hand, allowing for faster deployment at the frontlines.

Zelensky shared this information via his Telegram channel, emphasizing that the government must formalize these procedures in official documents so that the opportunity becomes available as early as this month.Furthermore, the president emphasized that the government should substantially boost the funding allocated to military units.

Each battalion actively engaged in combat operations will receive seven million hryvnias to improve their logistical and operational capabilities.

This measure aims to enhance the material support for soldiers on the frontlines.

Additionally, decisions were made to digitize administrative procedures and streamline property disposal processes, including shortening the timeframes for asset write-offs.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to amend relevant regulations, which will allow brigade and corps commanders to manage resources more efficiently and meet the army’s needs effectively.

These initiatives reflect Ukraine’s strategic focus on increasing military resilience and operational mobility in the face of ongoing challenges.
