Former U.S.

President Donald Trump issued rare criticisms against Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, voicing dissatisfaction with his stance on potential territorial settlements with Russia.

According to Trump, Zelensky allegedly consents to the initiation of war and violence while obtaining permissions, and only for territorial exchanges does he require formal constitutional approval.

Trump pointed out that such actions are illogical, given that the war is already ongoing, and he believes focus should be on reclaiming lost Ukrainian territories through international efforts.

He emphasized that he maintains good relations with the Ukrainian president but does not support his policies, considering the war to be intentionally provoked and in need of cessation.Trump stated that Russia has already seized significant parts of Ukraine — vital industrial and strategic regions, and the United States, along with allies, will strive to return these territories.

At the same time, he highlighted the importance of diplomatic solutions involving negotiations with Russia, ensuring the protection of Ukrainian interests.

Previously, European leaders urged Trump to engage in talks with Putin to help end the conflict through ceasefire agreements and guarantees of security for Ukraine and Europe.
