Former U.S.

President Donald Trump recently disclosed that he held private consultations with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

According to him, he described Orban as “a very intelligent person,” noting that he understood his stance on the possible developments in the region quite well.

Trump recalled asking the Hungarian leader whether Ukraine could indeed defeat Russia, to which he received a response that surprised and made him think.

Specifically, Orban admitted that Russia is a large country that has historically fought wars to defend its territory and national interests, and that it is prepared to fight for its goals.

At the same time, the prime minister emphasized that China, on the other hand, could win influence through trade and economic strength rather than military confrontation.

During a briefing, the official also mentioned upcoming negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin scheduled to take place in Alaska.

Trump announced his plans to go to Russia, although he also acknowledged the possibility of negative outcomes from such meetings.

Furthermore, he expressed dissatisfaction with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position, who insists that territorial exchanges in a possible peace agreement would require amendments to Ukraine’s Constitution.

Trump remarked that the diplomatic situation remains complex and that all aspects of this delicate diplomatic game need to be considered.
