Poland Supports Including Zelensky in Trump-Putin Talks, Seeing It as the Best Solution to the Crisis

The Polish government has expressed support for inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the upcoming meeting between US and Russian leaders, which is expected to be held by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Waldyslaw Kownacki, emphasized that inviting Zelensky to such a significant diplomatic event would be the most optimal step toward achieving stable peace and reducing regional tensions.
According to the official, this decision could become a key factor in seeking a just and lasting peace, bringing the Ukrainian leader closer to participation than ever before.
Kownacki highlighted that the US and their Western allies are exerting maximum efforts to end the war and restore stability in the region, and he is convinced that direct talks with Putin will focus on ceasefire arrangements and compromise solutions involving Zelensky, opening new opportunities for Ukraine.
If this happens on August 15 – the anniversary of the victory at Warsaw 1920 – it would serve as a symbolic and powerful signal for Europe and the future of the region.
The scheduled meeting between Trump and Putin on August 15 is taking place amid reports of potential agreements between the US and Russia to halt the war in Ukraine, which might solidify Russia’s occupation of parts of Ukrainian territory.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky has responded to these developments by emphasizing that Ukraine’s constitutional boundaries define its territory, and any agreements must align with constitutional provisions.
Meanwhile, European leaders and international diplomats are closely monitoring the situation, preparing statements and proposals aimed at finding a long-term peace solution in Ukraine.
