On Transcarpathia Border, 19 Illegal Migrants Detained Trying to Cross into Slovakia Without Authorization
In the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, law enforcement authorities and border guards successfully intercepted a group of 19 individuals attempting to illegally cross the border into Slovakia.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the incident took place during nighttime hours near the village of Pallo in Uzhhorod district.
Utilizing advanced video surveillance and unmanned aerial vehicles, officers tracked the movement of the group as they approached the border.
When the individuals failed to comply with police requests to halt, border guards were forced to fire warning shots into the air.
As a result, most of the suspects were detained, and one more person, who had separated from the main group, was apprehended later.
The detainees were transported to the local border guard unit for further investigation.
Authorities are now working to establish who might have organized the illegal crossing and involved parties attempting to facilitate the group’s passage.
The legal proceedings are ongoing, and those responsible for the illegal attempt to cross Ukraine’s border will face appropriate charges.
