Drones Launch Attack on Arsenal Factory in Arzamas: Latest Details on Incident

On the night of August 11, the Russian city of Arzamas, located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, experienced a surprising event — unmanned aerial vehicles carried out a targeted attack on one of the region’s largest armament manufacturing plants.
According to Russian online outlets such as Shot and Mash, as well as official sources including the Russian service of BBC, local media, and Governor Gleb Nikitin, reports emerged of explosions echoing through the city, sparking widespread concern among residents.
The regional administration confirmed that the incident involved the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant (AIP), a critical industrial facility for the region.Video footage posted on social media captured moments of the attack.
Local residents and prominent Telegram channels reported loud blasts and damage caused by the strikes.
Nikitin stated that one person was killed and two others were injured during the attack.
Meanwhile, Telegram reports suggested possible explosions in Dzerzhinsk, a neighboring city also within Nizhny Novgorod region.
Authorities are currently working to limit panic and are investigating the incident.
