The Czech Republic’s Foreign Minister, Jan Lipavský, has made an official visit to Ukraine, reaffirming Prague’s unwavering support for Kyiv in its confrontation with Russian aggression.

In a statement on his X social media account, he emphasized that Czechia has no intention of leaving Kyiv isolated in its struggle and remains committed to the joint fight for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.

Lipavský highlighted that Kyiv continues to receive support, a stance that will remain firm regardless of the political developments within Czechia, especially considering the growing fatigue over Ukrainian refugees amid economic difficulties.

According to him, his trip is yet another confirmation of Czech support for Ukraine, with Prague aiming to be a reliable partner for Kyiv in countering Russian threats.

It is worth noting that parliamentary elections are scheduled in Czechia this October, and there are concerns that support for Ukraine might weaken depending on the formation of the new coalition government.

The most likely candidate for the prime minister position is former Premier and leader of the ANO movement, Andrej Babiš, who currently leads national opinion polls.

During the 2023 presidential elections, Babiš attempted to appeal to voters dissatisfied with Czech aid to Ukraine, although no overt pro-Russian sentiments were detected in his statements.

The political landscape in Czechia remains uncertain, and the future of support for Ukraine after the elections is still unpredictable.
